Last four months...

After four months I am back, to share to express and to put my thoughts... Well last four months were crazy, full of different experiences.. It had work pressure, social pressure, family pressure and travel.. Ha ha ha.. September I got to know my track got changed, which was not a good news for me.. I was unhappy about that change due to couple of reasons, It somehow affected my work as well, however the best part is despite all this I managed to perform pretty well in the last quarter of the year. I realised when I saw the number of people I hired in Q4... Well, social and family pressure is obvious :-) where other people want you to get married, its strange.. During the process of finding the right match, experiences were funny, strange, different and wiered at times :-) It was interesting to know different people and their thought process after interacting with them. Nice to see - people showing their best and lie so beautifully. Recruitment gives me lot of opportunity to see variuos characterstics of human beings, but this process was enlightening for me. I definately gained to learn people behaviour. I plan to put it together and share it sometime in the near future..

After Jaisalmer, visited couple of more places in the month of December and January. In November attended recruiting workshop, which was fun with learning. Created couple of video presentations for the team!

Want to share about my recent travel to the centre of the country - Madhya Pradesh. Went to the Bandhavgarh National park and Jabalpur. After visiting mountains, beaches and historical monuments, this was new for me to go for a Jungle safari - we were loaded on a green jeep - it was two hours ride into the jungle in search of tiger. Couldn't see tiger but all other animals, trees and birds :-).. Just got to see the palm print of the tiger on sand.. It was damn cold in the forest.. Next day we went to city - Jabalpur.. There we went to see the popular place known as Bhera Ghaat - River Narmada passing from Marble Rocks - spectacular sight, tasted local food from streets, the regular poha and jalebi - uhhh Yummy.. Khoya jalebi.. kachori.. fulki.. All possible street food... Due to fog the right train got late by 15 hours.. :-0 We came from a different train and missed our office on Monday.. All in all the travel was fun, full of adventure and beautiful sights..

Now I wish to go to Leh-Ladak.. Lets see when I plan it...

September 2009

Well, the month of september offered me travel and a super hectic schedule. Guess all my thoughts and experiences are almost lost, so thought to share the summary of all that I was doing this september. Like last year, this year in September again I was travelling. The month started with a International travel. Attended a wedding of a cousin in Singapore with family. It was a great fun, a different experience. Sikh wedding in one of the Gurudwara of Singapore. It was almost same way from customs standpoint with few minor differences. Wedding took 2 days, after that we visited other places in the country.
Soon after I came back from singapore, travel was planned for bangalore. Its my favorate city and I was visiting it after 8 months. I remember the moment when I reached airport. The weather was mind blowing. When I sat in the cab, I asked the driver to put off the AC and open the glass window. I love it. Had a super hectic stay with official stuff, still managed to visit Ana's place and see her cute little angle. This visit was fun, after 1 hour travel in Auto rickshaw I found her place, but it was worth it. I had super tasty Aloo partha's with mirchi's achaar..
Also in the evening before my flight I met Laxmi at brand factory, offcoarse I quickly bought some stuff for myself while waiting for her... Ha haha..
The month end with a travel to Jaisalmer, stayed at Fort Rajwada, visited Thar desert.. Saw some more forts in the city.. Amazing fun.. Traveled by train, had pakorey, kachori and chai.. I was missing it from a long time, because of by air travels.. I was always fasinated by Rajasthan culture and this time I saw a different city - with all brown architecture..

Visit to Kathak Dance School

Last friday I visited Kathak dance school - run by Mrs Malli at Fbd.. She is a trained Kathak dancer for close to 20 years. She choreographed two songs for me when I was in college. This time I went her to choreograph a Rajasthani folk.. Its been long that I performed on stage.. I remember, my last dance performace at my favorate Ficci Audi - Stage, those lights, huge crowd and cheers.. I loved it all.. Initially the audiance was not supportive, since they were gradation students, they wanted some western performances and I was dressed up in a folk dress, and song was also not very popular amoung this generation audiance. I performed on Navrang movie - holi song.. I had to play a role of girl and as well as for boy. So the moment I turned back and performed the boy's part, there was loud cheer from the crowd and my energy doubled.. :-)

Anyways, This school had small set of girls who learn Kathak dance from Mrs Malli, So what I noticed were the different age group of girls performing Kathak, starting from 5 yrs to 22 or so..
I am aware, even girls with age of 3 start learning Kathak. But I was really happy to see it live a 5 year girl performing Kathak with such a beauty and she remembered each taal. So it was amazing to watch that. Mrs Malli is still using that old phillips casette player.. :-)
I always wanted to learn Kathak, I hope I get chance to learn in the near future...

Visit to Government Primary School

An attempt - to bring smile on the faces of innocent kids.. It was so fun to be with them. I am so glad, that I am part of such a great initiative. I always wanted to be a part of such an activity. At Sapient we have come up with this initiative to associate ourselves with a NGO which is providing literacy to kids who cannot afford education. We have volunteered to visit this school to run activities to add fun at school. The kids belong to slums and have zero resources, they have never gone to school.

The experience of the visit cannot be expressed in words, it was so beautiful to see smile in their eyes... We gave them basket ball and net. They were so thrilled to see the basket ball and net, and played it with full enthusiasm. Kids love to dance, sing and play. They don't have enough resources so they are really excited about such activities.

Every alternate friday one group from the hiring team visit the school and run activity. The next group, is going to teach them importance of hygine and will be helping them prepare a hygine kit, which they can use in future.

Check out video to catch the glimpse of our recent visit on 8th may..

Life at Sapient !

Work is going at a full pace, I am enjoying each bit of it.. Sapient is back with the hiring mode, with new work, we have too many needs to work upon. It just took me back to Q4 when, Hiring team was on Road to 210.. I,Nikki, ana, jana, ash use to Rock.. It was so much fun.. I never got a feeling that these guys work from bangalore..

Well now again we are on hiring spree and I am loving it.. It just thrills me, phone screening, lining up candidates, last me mins back outs, salary negotiations, RP tension ha ha ha.., vurv tension, hire losses, offer losses all that will happen aagain... and it will be fun :-)

Between couple of things which went good for me in last week is- I have been a winner of Sapient core value (Creativity) at India level.. It was so unexpected, when in the morning meeting it was announced by P, I was so happy to hear that.. Next day K shared the email with Sapient India mentioning the winners name with a brief write-up on each winner. My mailbox was full of wishes, I got mails and wishes from unexpected people from different teams and projects.. Its a great and big thing happened to me. I will remember it for my whole life. The second new thing is my new role.. I am enjoying it, so all that make my life at Sapient ROCKS !!
